I felt that the documentary IDEO was basically saying that design is all about being free and letting your mind go with any idea that comes to life; no matter how small or silly the idea may be. It also showed how there isn’t a sense of superiority or hierarchy in a design work environment.
The people with the best ideas may or may not be those who have been there the longest or worked on the most projects, and the work environment of a design department understands and recognizes that.
The movie talked about how you aren’t required or expected to ask permission in design work environments to go with an idea because of the freedom throughout the work place.
If you never try, you’ll never know whether or not your idea would have been successful or not.
